I am genuinely dreading the miserable pillock who sits behind me since last season. He even whinged when we were 2-1 up against Inter. I probably should have told him to sit down and shut up at the end of last season (rather than just giving him the 1000 yard stare), when he started triumphantly singing "you don't know what you're doing" at Puel.

If we can play well enough to shut him up, I'll enjoy the game.

I know it's early, but have a few more wines. I'd love to see us score more than one.

I detest people like that. I will quite readily discuss my displeasure at poor performances etc but nobody at a match wants to hear what I think. Why do some people feel their idiotic views warrant projecting their voice several rows?
Sit down, shut up and support your team. Whinge to your mate or on a forum.

But Davis has been here years. Romeu 2 years. Cedric, Bertrand, VVD, yoshi. Forster. JWP. These players were here under koeman and longer.
So you suggest it's a tactical issue rather than existing players going off the boil and new recruits not being good enough?

SOme of the people around me in Itchen North do nothing but moan about the team, sarcastically jeer at Forster etc all match long.

Going to lose it one of these days!!!

I know what you mean, but the performances in those two games were chalk and cheese.

The Watford performance maybe doesn't look so bad now. They're a very good team.

And under Koeman, we still lacked a proper right winger and a proper number 10 (in my view). But we did at least have Pelle (as a target man and goalscorer) and Mane (as a pace merchant and goalscorer). We also had a fully fit and on form Virgil, who would invariably find a way to bring the ball down and start off attacks, rather than putting the ball straight into the air or into the stands.

But if we are going to look at tactics, Tadic being moved over the right on an almost permanent basis post Koeman cannot be ignored. It makes Tadic less of a threat, it makes Bertrand less of a threat, it makes the team less of a threat.

Negativity about the city, the team, the players and just about everything else is an unpleasant Southampton trait. I am pleased I spent my formative years elsewhere because (OK I know I am a miserable old sod but) I wouldn't want to be as negative and as unpleasant as the blokes that sit behind me.

If we lose/draw 0-0 then I can see tides turning against Pellegrino

Yep. I'm also a fully paid up miserable bugger. BUT at the game it's all positive or I'll shut the flip up. It's also the (cowardly) reason I rarely post here after a loss, I know I'll regret what I'll say and it'll make even less sense than usual.

I just want us to play well today and get my buzz from that.

Just heading off now, I would love to see a few goals but can't see past a 1-0 today, but as long as we play well I'll be happy. Would like to see Gabbi, JWP and Boufal start in this one...COYR...<applause>

Struggling to motivate myself into getting ready to go to SMS.
Started work at 04.30, got home at 13.45 and just want to sleep.
I suppose, looking for positives, I might get 40 winks at the game. :emoticon-0113-sleep
Knowing my luck, some wally will only go and score a goal, waking me up. :emoticon-0138-think
