Just seen a Newcastle blog where it is apparent that they think Merson always picks them to lose. Mmm....sounds familiar. They also called the 2-0 prediction to us as a shock result.....I know we aren't at our best, but predicting us to win 2-0 at home isn't a shock....it is what we should be doing.

 

I do like the way that Oriol doesn't forget us....shame a few more players don't touch base with us occasionally.

I like the photo where Tadic is obviously promising Gabbi that he will pass the ball occasionally to him on Sunday.

 

I don't care who we play in this match bar one person, Gabbiadini.

I don't care how we play in this match bar having every single player looking up every time they have the ball to see if Gabbiadini is making a run and, if they can without needlessly losing possession, trying to get the ball to him.

If that happens, I'll enjoy the game.

One manager (Alan Ball?) told the players that their sole job was to get the ball to MLT. Not quite the same, but reasonable to say that Gabbi should see as much of the ball as possible.

 

I see that picture as Gabbiadini saying “It’s my ball, you can’t have it because I won’t get it back”.

 

Alan Ball; that was MLT's purple patch; 65 goals in 85 games or something close to this.

 

Newcastle have the third best defensive record in the league and we are **** in front of goal; so see this one going to a challenge for us to get something from this game. Goalless draw or 0-1.

 

I sort of agree but for some reason (Merson esq ) I think it'll be a drab 1-1. I'm usually a very much half glass full person but I'm rather worn down from back half of last season, this season to date & the VD saga. I truly hope MP get's it figured & the board support him (regardless of his targets & requirements) in the next couple of transfer windows but I'm rather quite saddened & disappointed by this "lull" as some of you might point out seeing as our expectations are supposedly so grandiose now Anyway, I'll be there as usual for NUFC doing my vocal best to support the lads & then again for WBA, which will be my 60th b'day weekend. Here's hoping for 6 points & some significant front foot play from the whole team. COYS.

No, this Sunday, Saints will be like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis, blinking in the unaccustomed sunlight, then putting away 5 goals, 3 from Long, one from Lemina and a Newcastle own goal, together with a rock-solid defensive show. And I haven't been drinking, yet.

 

So you think we will score a goal; now that l call optimism HR!

My prediction is staying the same as what I said in the op. If we try something different then I think we'll win. If not then they'll do a job on us and a draw at best.

 

Hi TLL; it feels strange having a conversation regarding how we might scrape a draw with a newly promoted side to the EPL at home. How far our stock seems to have fallen. Here's hoping for better times sometime soon...
