You do know this season doesn't have us pushing for Champions League places because we kept breaking the thread timings rules....
I don't think Puel tells them to be cautious, they just are sometimes, Its all in the head I think he wanted them to do what Davo did mid 1st half when he actually ran at them, tackled someone and started a short period of pressure from us
A week and a day until we can erase the pain of defeat. When we win, I'm happy to go a long time between games, revelling in the sweet taste of victory. When we lose I can't wait for us to get back out there. Chelsea next. Gulp.
They've got a very tough semi final against Spurs at the weekend which will go in our favour. Can see it being a heated affair so let's hope for a couple of red cards. Might be catching them at a good time you know.
Yeah, Spurs have a chance to do to them what they did to Spurs almost exactly a year ago - and totally derail their season. And we could be there to deliver a blow of our own. Not sure off the top of my head, but we never ever seem to beat Chelsea. Let's change that.
The real City showed up yesterday and they were too much for us to handle. Still, we were only undone by a set piece goal which is a bit disappointing - you'd think that one area in which they won't be better than us as they have only a few good headers of the ball. After that it was always going to be difficult. We had to open up and they seized that. I'll note that bringing Boufal on brought nothing good to us; not only did we gain nothing attacking wise, it hurt us defensively as he rarely tracks back and loses possession often, both of which helped City to bury us with their counterattacks. And it's not the first match that bringing Boufal on has the same effect on our performance. I just can see a scenario in which I would like to bring him on, other than a late substitute for Tadić or when we're leading 4-0.
Monday Blues!! That is just it Teddy!!! Whenever Saints play a top team, the result rarely seems to be in doubt. Take out Everton and West Brom, Saints have managed 2 points against teams above them in the table this season. Bournemouth have a better return against these teams!!
Fully expect Tottenham to progress to the FA Cup final and then Chelsea getting back on track in their next match with a 1-0 victory via the penalty spot.
We beat Chelsea last year? Last before that was when Rickie scored a fk at St Marys. So no not that often... more than we beat Spurs though
Boufal and Tadic together is not a good idea. Has to one or the other in tight games Got to stick with Boufal. Hopefully he can stay fit till the end of the season
Funny that after recent wins your comments didn't mention Claude Puel... Ah well. A loss against a good side. Also too many key players missing or recovering from injury. Time to hand over the matchday thread torch. Vin
Going back to Long's substitution...ok, there seemed to be a misunderstanding about the extent of his injury...but should I be concerned about his glare off with Puel and his team. This follows on from 2 occasions when Jay got wound up. Don't remember any occasion when players got angry in public with Koeman and Poch. Is all not well in paradise?
Not that I'm buying into any conspiracy theories, but JWP also looked mightily pissed off when he was substituted on Saturday. The thing is, I'm of the belief that players generally want to be on the pitch and make a contribution, and when James was taken off, the game wasn't beyond saving. If I was a manager, I'd be disappointed if my players weren't a bit annoyed that they get substituted.
