As a long standing members of the PL, Southampton should be aiming to beat every other PL side. Sadly, the mentality appears to be oñe of minimising the scale of an expected defeat. I hope I am wrong and SFC can begin to defeat the likes of Manchester United, as they did on a regular basis in the 80s and 90s.
I think there should be ambition to beat the top sides, not expectation. The premier league is very different to 80s and 90s.
It does make you wonder if we are any better off from moving from The Dell to SMS sometimes, we have never had that feeling of being a fortress at the latter. Obviously having more fans in with more comfortable surroundings is an improvement and had to happen, I was thinking more financially and teamwise.
Dunno about everyone else, but I felt we had an awesome defence with Niemi in goal with Svensson & Lundekvam at Centrebacks. What a dream to have a Niemi back in our team!
I seem to recall that we had a very tight defence not that long ago, second meanest in the PL I think, to Chelsea?Happy to be corrected on that.
Given the length of time that SFC have been in the PL, they should by now have devised ways to at least win 3 games a season against a "top 6" side. How many were achieved last season. Liverpool ?? I can't think of anyone else but correct me if I am wrong. In the first season back in the PL, 2012=2013 at least 3 wins against top 6 sides were achieved. Now it is one at best!! Not good enough!!!
Chelsea have just spent £100m on a single player. That is probably more than about half the leagues whole best team cost CBA to tally up Saints starting team up but I’d imagine that there is a good chance Lukaku cost more than them all combined. The league is a joke and is completely pointless being in it really except for a few teams

It still doesn't answer a very poor record against these teams in recent years. SFC entered the PL.believing they could beat the best, and did. IMO it is down to belief. SFC should be winning at least oñe in four matches against the likes of Manchester United. Manchester United might be better, but not massively so. Saints should be achieving a win against them every other season.
I don't have a smart phone, so no app. I do have a letter from the nhs confirming my status. A phonecall this morning to the club to inform them A. We (my wife and I) still have not received our season tickets and B. We dont have a smart phone.. refund please..
My parent's haven't got their season tickets yet either. Why leave it so last minute? Just comes across as sloppy and disorganised which isn't a great sign of where we are as a club right now. They also missed out on renewing their car parking because when they asked about it when renewing their season tickets, the saints employee on the phone said they were still negotiating prices with the car park but would phone them when it was done so they could renew the car parking too. No phone call, no email and now they have chased it up the only car parking left is the furthest away ones, and my parents aren't spring chickens.
You can use a letter instead it looks like. Would make sense to only do it once though (for vaccinated) rather than every game.
