Is this BBD? I also thought he played well. He played some really nice passes first half.

I just thought the defence let us down - and the inexperienced midfield didn’t have the leadership go get back in the game.

Onana had never saved a pen in his career as well I think someone said. Come play Saints, we’ll fix that for you

RM said Archer had been good with pens in training over the last 2 weeks. Well even I know matchday is massively different especially against a side like MU. Bit too clever for me.

Definitely this. Easy with hindsight but said already, too many changes especially vs a side like MU. Too brave <laugh>

Just didn't think he had the impact on the game that he normally does and we got caught a lot down his side.

Saying that though I always find it harder to judge individual player performances when I'm not here so there's a good chance I'm talking ****.

Similar to Lincoln, I wanted to illustrate how I feel via the medium of images:

He picked the right midfield which was a step forward

Another possible argument for playing Taylor at left back is mentality. There was a video interview with Martin and Downes together when he first signed (the one with them sitting in the stands) and they started talking about who's the hardest player in the squad. They both blanked for a while before going for Taylor. I suspect having a real tough, no-nonsense seasoned pro on the pitch yesterday might have helped.

THB also said Taylor really helped him when they played together at Burnley. And THB has struggled so far with the step up in level, but will likely be in the team now for the next 3 at least. Trouble is, if you bring Taylor in a LB it leaves us with the KWP/Sugawara issue. Sugawara has been one of our best performers this season but KWP is the better player IMO. Only real way that you might be able to play both is if you move Dibling central, but then either Big Les or Fernandes has to miss out. I don’t think we should be messing with that really so probably just have to make a harsh decision whichever way with KWP and Sugawara dropping to the bench.

    Yeah, I agree.

I'd also say that, while one or other of them might be able to play in that attacking position as a one-off, I very much doubt either is good enough to do it regularly. If either of them was good enough he'd have made a career as a winger/forward not a full back.

KWP on the left wing could be worth trying for me if it gets him, Suga & Taylor all on the pitch. He does well cutting in and shooting or playing incisive balls when in attacking positions. Feel he’d offer more than BBD there currently

Oh what great behaviour from our captain. That will be a 4 or 5 ban game now. Absolute moron.

He isn't a Premier League player. We know that as he has failed to be good enough for us many times! It is for the best he works his way down the pecking order. He is a very good Championship defender.
