The Press and all of the other experts always tell us that Saints win because the opposition had a bad day, not enough of them are having bad days at the moment.
I had planned to watch the game but the kick-off clashes with my "watching paint dry" series on amazon prime and "having my eye poked out with a wooden stick" session with my neighbor's 8 year old kid.
I was going to watch it aswell , but instead to liven my saturday night up I've picked up a few rolls of carpet samples to flick through.
I've just potted on some chilli plants and early salad garden veg I'm bringing on. I could live stream those growing for anyone up for a bit of excitement. The indoor herbs make a welcome distraction too.
Stuff like this makes me think that the entire culture at the club is rotten to the core and our problems won’t be solved until the vast majority of the coaching staff and playing staff are cleared out and replaced. Even worse when you consider we basically did completely change up the coaching set up in the Summer.
Saying the words "he has not impressed me" about a young player in public is strange in spite of any context. Picking out a player that by no means has been our worst performer recently is not a very tactful move either IMO.
He doesn't need to hang him out to dry in public, it's poor man management in my view. He's been asked about other players and not felt the need to be negative about them. Maureen slagging Luke Shaw comes to mind, it feels a bit personal and unnecessary to me.
I think given English isn't his first language I think you're over reacting TBH. It's probably meant to mean something more like "He has more to offer" or "he's not at his best at the moment".
"He has not impressed me" is pretty unambiguous and clear, I don't like to see players singled out in public particularly young ones just starting their careers.
In the warped logic that is SFC this year Maybe he mistook him for another player, could easily have mistaken him for S. Armstrong for example.
Come on Tom, his English is not that poor!... He knew what he meant. We've all been praising how intelligent and clear his pressers have been.
Pretty sure "Hes not impressed me" means the same thing whether you speak English, Spanish or Klingon.
It's not about speaking the language. I haven't listened to his press conference but I really don't think he meant he "was not impressed" in the way we would interpret it.
The last words in the tweet. "Asked Selles to expand in embargoed section, which is out tonight" I'll wait for that and draw my own conclusions rather than spaff my bile now.
