Was that with Gerry Gurr in goal? No wait, I think that was 4-4. This was mid/late 60's and about that time they also beat us 5 -1 with Shilton scoring. Lots of goals in these fixtures.
Pelle has been awarded the captains armband in my fantasy team, So I'm expecting lots of goals. 3-0, Pelle x 2 and Long
I think so, but then you know by now if you've been reading the thread. Well he would already have against Sunderland if it hadn't been marked down as an own goal. As I've said before, it seems to depend more on who made the initial shot rather than the technical reason as to who last touched the ball. Kane got his free-kick the other night. Rooney gets his own dubious ones. Rooney even complained once to the Premier league that Frank Lampard used to get every dubious goal attributed to him. As for Pelle, I think every ex-player pundit who saw that own goal said it should have been his. It's not as if the ball shot itself towards goal, is it.
http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/arti...-gallery-pre-leicester-city-home-2067886.aspx Training gallery. Look out for the photo where poor JWP can be seen in the gym looking wistfully out at the other players. The bars on the windows make it look as if he is in jail...bet he feels like he is
I'm always nervous for these sort of games... Just hope this isn't our annual home defeat to a struggling team. I hope Deano plays sure he'll get a great reception, as wil Nigel. If David ****ing Nugent scores though... I think if we play well then we'll dominate the midfield and should have too much for them. Would be great to go into the 2nd international break with 25 points. Hope Leicester stay up, does anyone remember the night game at St Marys where it absolutely pissed it down and they wasn't sure if it would go ahead? Think we ko'd late after the ref finally gave it the go ahead. Can't remember the score now...
I cant really remember when I was actually quite nervous over a game where we should beat the opponent. It doesn't cross my mind about any annual home defeat that probably won't happen. Given the last 5 years progress, I nowadays just assume we will win at home. It actually comes as a bit of a surprise if we don't. But I don't invite disappointment by being nervous. I still get that zing of expectation, but nothing that gets me worried that a team, who we should beat, might beat us.
Even Lawro is predicting us to win, although he thinks that Leicester will score - He's predicted 2-1 to Saints. This is either evidence that things in the world of 'nothing exists outside of the top four' punditry are finally changing direction, rather like a very large oil tanker, or it's the kiss of death and we're doomed.
Lawro is challenged by Football Manager 2015, the game, plus Sport Interactive's Miles Jacobson. Lawro says 2-1 Saints Jacobson: 2-1 Saints FM2015: 3-0 Saints I like the cut of that FM2015 laddie's jib.
