I’m not as worried as everyone else seems to be, which is undoubtedly a bad sign.

 

Bit worried without Downes tbh. Think this might be a rough evening

 

So no Downes on the bench even! Did Russ say anything in the presser?

 

There's a lot of trembling knees but that's the opposition looking at the starting eleven and the bench.

 

Quite amazing really, more excitement about the bench than the actual starting X1, that's a sure sign of progress this season. Tough call, I think we'll be ok but the longer this unbeaten at home run continues, there's that feeling I get that perhaps it'll end v an unexpected team. That's the trouble with being a long time Saints fan!!

 

Why is DM such a specialised position? Midfielders and CB’s can be makeshift fullbacks, fullbacks and DM’s makeshift CB’s, strikers can be wingers etc. But how often does an attacking mid, box to box player or CB actually cover DM successfully? Weird.

 

I can almost count the Hull fans from the other end of the ground. Shame for them this was rescheduled as I'm sure they would have brought a lot more on a Saturday.
