Left the board alone last night as I knew it would be meltdown. Just read the last 4 or 5 pages and it wasn't as bad as I thought I have left it to sleep on it so I could give a measured view on the game. WHAT A LOAD OF ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS! Very measured. Very true How can a back four of Cedric (one of the best RB in the league) Yoshida (IMO a great CB) VVD (Allegedly one of the best CB in the world) Bertrand (one of the best LB in the league) And defensive Mids: Romeu (Normally a rock) Lemini (we were the envy of the Premier League signing him...or were) Concede FOUR (some of them scrappy) goals at home. And we were lucky it was only four. Leicester were tearing us apart every time they came at us, and when they weren't coming at us, we were passing to them! I honestly thought we had turned a corner, but I'm not sure. Not knee jerk. I think the fact that we weren't patient with Puel and sacked him, means that we will be patient with MP2. However, two wrongs don't make a right. Please quote this post at the end of the season as a thereisonlyoneno7 meltdown, but I cannot see how we will not be in a relegation scrap for the rest of the season.
I had no expectations that we would beat Leicester....I was more confident about Arsenal. The important thing now is for the team to learn and for fans to dust themselves off and start again. No point in zig-zagging with emotions.....we know we can play better now and we will.
Blimey Archers, excellently worked fourth should be in blue, superb cross field ball from Cedric straight to the opposition then the most halfhearted attempt by Vvd to stop the cross coming in (really **** defending by him) then player in middle Yosh? failing to run with only player in the middle.Sure they were fast but they didn't have to do much! Totally agree about Charlie's hopeless miss, back to 3-2 and we might have seen a bit more effort and maybe Leicester would have wobbled.
Chilcs,I know how long you've been watching Saints, you will have seen last nights match several times over throughout those years, these things happen don't bother searching this one out mate. My only real concern is why we keep changing the team so much been doing it for year or two now, they like to call it rotation but disruption is more appropriate Imo. Look out Chelsea you're gonna catch the fallout.
Though if you look back our best results have come during these periods of rotation this year and last year. For example the EFL run last year and Arsenal, Man City and Everton last couple of weeks. Yesterday was pretty much our first choice team minus Hoedt if you look back at the season.
I'm guessing we were at different ends. From the Chapel, the 4th looked like ruthless attacking play, and great movement from Okazaki. And Charlie's miss? Brilliant goalkeeping from Schmeichal.
I surprisingly feel better now after that outburst It's cold, but the sun is out and it's Christmas! I feel a 3-1 victory on Saturday PS My meds have just kicked in
On the bright side I have saved a few quid. I buy a tea and newspaper if the front page is cheery and/or Saints have won. Since neither was the case today, I have saved money and avoided the calories in a cake.
We sacked Claudio for being in the relegation zone in February having not scored a league goal since December.
