Even that is probably too charitable to Hughes. When he took over, we were 17th, and averaging 0.93 points/match. At the end of the season, we were 17th, and Hughes had brought in 1.00 points/match. Hughes' accomplishment was that he basically maintained the same level in eight games as Pellegrino had previously, which is arguably the harshest thing I've ever said about a person.
Ive only just noticed that City's next game is the early kick off away against United, so you'd hope he would continue to play the reserves. Although City's reserves still include a front 3 of a world cup winner, premier league winner and the most expensive English player of all time, so not sure how much help it'll be.
