I thought Guly did okay. Link-up play was good. It's all about opinions I suppose!

Davis - 6 - Had nothing to do. Nearly had a clanger when dropping a cross which led to their only notable chance, sort of off the line.

Richardson - 8 - Fantastic. Superb crosses and confident defending.
Fonte - 7 - Good again, no nonsense. Like the new haircut too.
Hooiveld - 7- Comfortable afternoon, barely knew he was playing most of the time!
Fox - 7.5 - Like his fellow full-back, threatening all the time.

Lallana - 8 - Magician. Awesome skills towards the end and chased every ball despite being 3-0 up. One who certainly takes pride in the Saints shirt.
Hammond - 7.5 - Got stuck in and showed Brighton's boo-boys why we rate him. Adkins has performed miracles getting Deano to the standard he's at.
Cork - 7.5 - Very assured display, and was equally as determined to get into tackles and get the ball moving more quickly.
    Chaplow - 7.5 - Never. Stops. Running.

    Lambert - 10 - Wow.
Guly - 6 - Struggled in the first half but was working very hard to eradicate his mistakes. Cannot fault his effort and link-up play with Lambert. Brighton contained him well.

For me, the team played well as a unit. All deserve good scores, highly impressed with Schneiderlin when he came on. Took the game away from Brighton and just made us tick along. A very good second half performance and a much deserved win.

I don't get how some of us 'fans' are giving some players ratings of 5?? We won 3-0 didn't we? Pretty much perfect performance second half, yes the first half was a close fought battle, the lowest rating I would give is for Kelvin, only because he had nothing to do! 3-0, 3 points, let's stop with the negativity and draw a blue line under this game!

You probably thought that Guly wasn't good because you only followed the ball and not noticing what was going on off the ball, can you not remember all the chasing he did before we scored the first goal? I think first half he was double teamed a lot, and certainly had a bit of a sulk after being booked, NA obviously got to him at half time because he suddenly became a lot more mobile, especially as we started to push the full backs wider and getting earlier crosses in.

When Rickie slid the ball just wide of the right hand post, if he'd passed it to Guly it was an open goal.

I was watching everything, first half he lost the ball almost every time he touched it which isn't good enough. How can he get 7 just for chasing when the likes of Barnard and Connolly would do the same but with better ball retention and passing? Guly chases almost all the time as an after-thought anyway, often his pressing is delayed and therefore not as effective as it could be.

I've just watched your highlights. Although two of Lambert's goals were penalties I've never
seen a player strike the ball so cleanly and hard. As I've always said, the man is class.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Although Rickie had a good chance there, Guly was in a superb position to score. A rare lack of vision from Lambert, probably due to potential hat-trick fever.
