Guys Lets just take a step back and look at young Sharp from another prospective. How many of you have started a new job, having the skills and knowledge to do it, yet have to adjust to yet another way of using those very same skills? It takes time and adjustment. Add to that the lad has had a very dramatic last 12 months. Probably not helped in recent times by not having his missus with him. Add to that some of the things he has had to put up with on Twitter and face-book and the like. Trust me it has been a bit on the tough side for him. Also with Saints he isn't the main striker like he was a Donny so he is playing almost a different roll altogether. Same goes for Chung (Lee or what ever) They will adapt both are exceptionally good players. They will need your backing and understanding to pull them through. Give them a chance they will get it right not too long a time. They will need that time.......
Yes but he can't just switch of that his son died etc and play for us. The two are combined his personal life will effect his playing life. So give him time, Adkins will sort him out both mentally and physical wise . Tbh I think he thought it would be easier moving then it has turned out. Seen him about ocean village a few times never looks happy.
You don't need permission to state the obvious, and we will get what we deserve, I just hope we get the results that genuine Saints fans want and deserve.
And that's a worry mate yes I can understand his pain and what he has gone through but if you have seen him looking unhappy is it purely because of what's happened in his personal life or being here?. I swear after what happened he was still scoring goals at Donny. Please Billy prove me wrong and do your stuff I just worry sorry if I seem to be putting him down but its simply not the case.
Oddly, I remember another Saints signing early in the year where the player didn't immediately vault into a starting role, which had people complaining that it was a poor piece of business...we had spent, by all accounts, 1.5m on a player who wasn't good enough to start. Now, he goes down for a game or two and people are fretting that our season is over.
Anyone else seen this? https://twitter.com/j_w_prowse/status/178137658072117248 Reckon he might be involved...
Yeah agreed. He seems to be really involved with the first team and seems almost as happy as me when we win. Unless we have a horrible injury backlog I doubt we will see anything more of JWP until next seasons cup competition (or if we make it to the promised land on the 7 sub bench). Anyone know if he actually supports Saints?
Again this Billy Sharp bashing is just ridiculous! He hasn't even played that much to even have that much of an opinion of him! I've been to every game he has played in and he hasn't done that bad, apart from missing the sitter at west ham! 9 out of 10 times he'd score that! I've liked his movement and his ability to play on the shoulder of the last defender! just give him a bleeding break!
Barnsley have just got Frank Nouble on loan from West Ham. Can't see him being much of a threat. The guy's a striker yet he has hardly scored any goals at all throughout his career. Been on loan to 6 different clubs in 2 years including Barnsley twice ! A really journey man loanee ! Having said all that, he'll probably score today !
Yep! He's going to score now. I said something similar about N'Guessan when we played Millwall (needless to say he scored....)
With Vaz Te gone, and Butterfield injured, I think Craig Davies is the only player that we need to be careful of. And even he wouldn't get into our squad. I cannot see anything other than 3 points today, even after our slip up in midweek.
Craig Davies was a player I had tipped for great things from his time at Chesterfield - His record for them was impressive. He has done well at Barnsley since he signed for them, despite jumping two leagues. He's one for our defence to watch out for this afternoon that's for sure.
I hope our officials are better than the myopic clowns doing the QPR v Bolton game, QPR denied a goal where the ball was well over the line, no question. Goal line technology anyone?
If we had goal line technology, Lallana's goal would've stood at the AMEX and it would have been a completely different game....
Yep I'm watching it, at least a foot over the line. GLT should have been brought in ages ago, but Blatter etc are dragging their knuckles. GLT in next year so Neville said?.
Davis, Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox, Guly, Hammond (c), Schneiderlin, Lallana, Lee, Lambert Cork, Sharp, Martin, Connolly and De Ridder
