For me though - the major concern is that whilst QPR and Villa are playing really poor we are not taking full advantage.

Take Villa as an example - they have lost 3 in a row with a -15 GD.

We are still 1 point behind them and it is extremely doubtful they will continue to play so bad for much longer - in fact our game against them has come at completely the wrong time...sandwiched between 2 leg of a cup semi.

Although most years there is 1 team who did well 1st half of the season then cant seem to buy a win... WHU anyone?

After being at villa park and watching how inept villa were, I'm confident we'll get something out of that game.

The only problem is who they sign, and how many of their players come back from injury before we play them. Realistically though, all we need to do is target Eric Lichaj their right back, as he can't kick a ball.
 
What is it with people that still want the keepers that are old as **** and past it. Thought we had one of those already, we don't need a second one thanx.
 
Connolly now signed. Wish him well, though hope Pompey keep on losing.

I can understand your issue with keepers who are past it. Don't understand your issue with age though. I don't give a monkies that Friedel is 41 for example.

Didn't say anything about Friedel as he is actually a good keeper. I'm more on about people who want Given, Schwarzer,Robinson etc etc. Now if I said old and not past it Friedel would be the first name I would think of.
 
Seen a lot of rumours today about our supposed bid for Astori.

Really hope this comes off, he is absolutely class. I have my doubts though, he could play for a top 10 team easily!

Ordinarily I would be inclined to agree with you - but they are playing Bradford and will be right up for those games and could get into a winning grove just at the wrong time (for us).

I think it will be a welcome distraction and they could be on a high.

Dont get me wrong - I can understand the logic that suggests they will be distracted/tired etc...

I had a hunch about the Sunderland game, the Stoke game and unfortunately this one - and so far have been spot on.

Strangely enough I have no hunch about the Arsenal game...
 
Is anyone else slightly worried that being in the bottom three will make it harder to sign players, i know we are only a point behind but at a glance it must be bad from outside point of view
