Found his level, never stood out when I saw him play but seems to be doing alright at Brentford
When you look at the amount of money Villa have received for the likes of Milner, Downing and Young it's all the more ridiculous that they are in the position they are. Been terribly managed and run.
They spunked silly money on Darren Bent as well not to mention his probable astronomical wages.
Even more scary is the fact that Real Madrid bought both Mesut Ozil AND Sami Khedira for the same fee and still had 2 million left over!
Good god.
Puts it into perspective when people moan about the £8mil for J-rod.
When they signed Berbatov Frazier Campbell went to Spurs on loan for the year I think as part of the deal
Do we want four goalies in the squad? Boruc was supposed to be the aged but experienced keeper. Would take up another place and limit possibilities in January (if in truth we are looking to sign new players). If the defence improves, the pressure on goalie reduces, team understanding improves, confidence goes up...knee jerk reactions are not needed.
One assumes that we're we to sign another keeper in January, Gazzaniga would be loaned straight out. Might even also come to some sort of mutual termination agreement with Boruc.
Think that sums it up. If Boruc and Gazza stay there is no room for another keeper. I think Boruc will have to go if Friedel is an option.
Friedel in and Boruc out would be a good piece of business in my opinion, but many of these rumours are just that.
This may be false hope after the weekend win but I genuinely don;t think we need to spend that much in January. We have a good squad and are playing some good stuff.
What is well documented on this thread tyhough is the need for at least 1 centre back of real premiership qaulity. In an ideal world I'd probably say 2 centre backs, with one that can play at left back as well.
I really like Dawson and think he could sort out some of the problems and the fact that he is a proven premierhsip player is also attractive. Scott Dann has been playing very well in the Championship and could also be considered as a cheaper option (and although not perfect I do think he is better than what we have)
My ideal (realistic) signing, though, would be Kjaer from Wolfsburg. Wanted by all the top clubs not long ago he is quick, young (but 30 international caps for Denmark) and good on the ball. He has lost his way (and fallen out with his manager) in Germany and could be an excellent option for us.
I really believe that, looking at our fixtures, we will pick up a decent amount of points before January the 1st and that should allow us to atract a quality centre back which will make all the difference. We don't need to change too much and I certainly dont think we should be signing wingers/any more attacking players.

Agree with that. I'm certain Nigel already has player(s) in mind. Feeling much more optimistic that we can climb out of trouble now!
