Emmanuel Frimpong is apparently not having his contract renewed at Arsenal.

Frimpong and Morgan as holding midfielders? Thoughts? Would he be worth going for?

He did well for Wolves last season before he was injured. He's a bright prospect that's for sure, but his future's on a bit of a knife-edge, looked like he was going to be a big player but now it doesn't look so likely.

Never was keen on Frimpong, Arsenal have only him to play the CDM role, and he isn't getting games, he was the supposed replacement for Song. If its that hes just not up to much or his attitude sucks, i'll pass! Now Kolo Toure, that is a shout, a first team regular in the last good Arsenal side and full international, just the experience we would need, City like loaning players out and paying a lot of their wages too, ala Bellamy at Cardiff a couple of seasons back.

I reckon we should enquire on Bertrand on loan, Chelsea have given him 4 starts this season, and 3 sub appearances, if we could guarentee every minute of every game, could be a shout! '

But agree, lots of good defenders not getting any games, gotta be good for us if we can strike loan deals with view to buy at the end of the season if we survive.

Okay well say to him, train hard and youre in, he's a bit attacking, but from what i have seen, Cashley seems to have taught him a lesson or two on positioning!

Reading around the transfer rumours threads, has anyone else linked the Suarez to MC and Lambert to LFC, I hope its bull but the rumours linking Sir RL to LFC keep on rearing its ugly head.

I'm not WUMMING, just putting 2+2 together and making 5 I hope.

Mancini has rubbished the Suarez idea. Bertrand I would be keen on. Looks a great prospect but doubt Chelsea will loan him out. Frimpong picked up a bad injury at Wolves didn't he? Sometimes takes players a while to recover. Wouldn't write him off yet.

RE post 75Lambert is keen to relieve the pressure on his manager, who he believes remains the right man for the job."I definitely want him to stay," the striker said. "He looks at me to try and lead the team as well and I am trying to obviously help him."I understand he is under pressure but it is not nice, it is not his fault, you know what I mean? It's all of our fault."It's little, little errors that are costing us at the moment but I think some of the performances this season we've deserved more points with what we've got."We've got the points we got, we know why we got them points but we can still believe we can turn it around."We know it is a big game, we know the circumstances of both teams, where we lie and how big three points will be for either side."We do understand that it is a big game but we're going about it like it's any other game, try to prepare like we always prepare

I'm pretty sure the rules in the Prem state that you are only allowed to loan one player from another Prem club per season. So we could only get one of Bertrand/Dawson/Toure other names mentioned, if we were to go for loan moves

A different sort of rumour, but Bradford are reportedley interested in Under-21 defender Matt Young in a loan deal

Wouldn't want Bertrand (although I do rate him) we have our own young left back coming through! Does the Ogbonna rumour still have any legs? I dream of it every night...

Not Saints but
Arsenal are ready to offer Liverpool Theo Walcott plus £8m for Raheem Sterling. Contract talks between the Gunners and Walcott, 23, have stalled, while fellow England winger Sterling, 17, has 18 months left on his deal at Anfield.

Why would Liverpool do that!?

I almost always just immediately discount any rumours that include a player exchange, they are 99% of the time just started by kids on twitter who have been playing too much FM or Fifa.

On that topic though, can anyone give me some actual reasonably high-profile player exchanges because I'm struggling to think of any. I remember that we got Beattie from Blackburn as part of the deal for Kevin Davies... But I really struggle to think of others. Anyone enlighten me?

Bridge for Le Saux + £7m, Kenwyne Jones for Stern John + £6m
