If teams never sold good players, the only available players would be crap. Offers come in for good players and for most teams there is a sale point. Or perhaps they are covered in his position.

 

He's not quite broken into the first team on a regular basis- hence the loan to Espanyol last season- so a good offer will always tempt.

Players get sold for various reasons- the last one inter shipped out was Sneijder, who's obviously easily good enough for their first team...

 

Basically, yes. They want to buy other players so they have to sell someone. They're not trying to move him on specifically, I think they'd be happy to keep him and sell someone else, but as Rabbo says above, he's not a regular first-teamer yet so he's a good candidate to be shipped out.

Even if we haven't bid for him I love the thrashing around of rather arrogant LFC fans faced with a little bit of reality. ie a powerhouse in decline is not always preferred to an ambitious cheeky upstart.

Still think we're not seriously interested in him though, which makes the Liverpool reaction provide even more giggle food.

 

Coutinho has seen Dutch star Wesley Sneijder leave to join Galatasaray in Turkey this week and, now he is over a calf injury, he is looking to become a mainstay in the Inter side.
He told Tuttesport: "I'm not for sale, I feel the confidence of the coach and the club and I am fully focused on getting back as soon as possible."

 

Inter want Paulinho, they have already said they have to sell to buy. They see Coutinho as the player that will net them the highest fee. He wasn't a first team(10 games) even before his injury and Sneijder(only 5 games if I remember rightly) hasn't been playing due to the contract issues. Not that it matters as I have doubts we made a bid anyway.

 

I see we've missed out on Llorente, he's off to Juventus.

I think I agree with those who are saying we are just being used by agents to inflate the prices of their players. I'd be suprised (but pleased) if we signed anyone of the players mentioned on here.
