Rumours that Arsenal are prepared to re-sign their former striker were thrown into confusion tonight as it emerged that Southampton owner Fraulein Liebherr has told Saints boss Mauricio Pocchettino to buy Robin Van Persie at any price this summer. RVP would have won the game for Saints this afternoon, in the view of Fr Liebherr who feels that points are being lost as Saints lack a lethal striker.

Thanks for making me laugh. After being in a bad mood for most of the afternoon it's appreciated!

This is nonsense and you know it. No chance that van Persie would come here to be the fourth striker behind Lambert, Messi, and the cyborg Pele they've been building. You didn't hear the last bit from me, mind.

Rumour that the new Saints mascot for next season will be a 7ft yellow crane. Peter Crouch's agent has been sounded out on the possibility of him taking on the role. Pantillimon has been touted as backup on the days that he is available.

If only you had spelt bollocks correctly this one might have some validity. ;)

But it's nice to see the counter rumours taking shape. Keep it up. :)

Transfer rumours the week after the window closes are a funny concept.

You all may jest, but we need a finisher. Tom Ince would have done the job today. Van Persie too, but let’s get realistic Ince will do.

We scored two today...stopping them scoring would have done it :( Woke up (when my son fell through the door at 2.00 am<grr>) and thought we'd lost, then remembered it was a draw. I can remember seasons when I'd have been happy with a draw.

What about the rumour that some Gooners are transferring their allegiance to St. Marys so that they can be getting advanced viewing of their future stars?
