So did Forte, Dickson and Holmes offer anything at all, or were they all pretty abject? I would ask about Mills but it seems pretty clear he's not in Adkins' plans.

Sounds pretty dire. Is Dickson recovering from a knock, or has Nige just decided that he isn't impressed by him?

dickson hasnt been mentioned by Nige, whereas Barnard & Hammond were - my view is that he hasnt impressed personally, didnt look too good against Bilbao in any case

Does that make him third choice after Reeves now?

I'm not entirely sure - certainly makes it look as though Harding is a nailed-on starter though. We've seen Seaborne being played at left back a couple of times as a sub and in friendlies - I wouldn't encourage it, but maybe Nige reckons he can do the job when required?

The whole team were rubbish, if their trying to make an good impression, they certainly failed. Forte was talking the talk after the weekend's events, but he did nothing to inspire. Dickson was poor and I really can't see him getting anywhere near the first team at the moment. Forecast is a complete idiot and we should get rid of him sooner rather than later and none of the younger players did anything special either. Really disappointed with the effort from the Saints 11, but all credit to Eastleigh, they took full advantage.

I was there and it was rather abject, there were eleven players on the pitch at all times but none played as a team, Jo Mills was clattered very early on and although was trying hard was obviously not right. Blackwood was also crocked early doors but had not made any impact, Saville just seemed out of position, Dickson was being kicked every time he went near the ball and was a shadow of his normal self, but was also not in his normal position, Robinson and Racine won a few balls in the air, a bit ponderous on the deck and were guilty of poor distribution, Dean looked overweight and clueless, but again didn't seem to know what position he was supposed to be in, Isgrove has talent but needs to put on a bit of weight, took his goal well, but had other opportunities and was guilty of taking his eye off the ball, Seidi, didn't notice his input, Fusu, nope didn't see anything to inspire, Hoskins, busy but again not where I would expect him to play, Forte, to be honest I didn't realise it was him!, Holmes ran his socks off but wasn't given the ball, a couple of wasted chances, McCarthy again didn't know him and nothing much to say. Dovey looked like an assured keeper, no chance with the Pen, Forecast was dire. I had no idea who was Captain at any time and there was very little communication between players. Eastleigh to give them their due played a good strong tackling game with some nice touches, deserved to win and did so well.

Good news is that the Youngsters won their second game in Denmark beating Brondby 2 1, perhaps those kids could have shown some of the seniors how to win! The futures bright it's red and white, not sure about the interim!
