You say that, but they won't be far off a title challenge with VVD. There's no African cup this year, so they will get a full season out of Mane. I think they are a DM and a striker short, but if VVD goes there it strengthens them massively.

I see that Saints are reporting Liverpool to the Premier League for an illegal approach to VVD. Whilst I doubt very much that the PL will do anything to censure Liverpool, I am pleased that Saints are prepared to tell clubs to f*** off. There is absolutely no reason to sell VVD.
Until he's gone, I'm not giving up hope. It's not something I'm clinging to. I just so no reason, yet, to write him off as a Saints player.
What I have noticed today is that Liverpool fans (as well as other fans of the top clubs) seem to think that because they support a bigger club, they have a sense of being a far bigger and better man/woman than fans of smaller teams. This doesn't apply to the fans who have come on this forum today, as it's just been good banter. But on Twitter/Facebook/RAWK, the fans have been belittling us not just as fans but as people and it gets me sometimes that some 17 year old from London/ Cornwall/ Romania supporting his "one true love of Liverpool" thinks he's somehow a better person because he jumped on the glory supporting bandwagon.
I just resigned myself to it a long time ago. He's really a top class defender, and too many big clubs with money need one of those right now. The board will be happy with a huge profit and he'll be happy with a big move.

If Saints fill that a certain amount of money is too good to turn down so be it. There's no emotional connection for players to stay at clubs long,it's all about money,and if they can get a little success along the way then so be it. There will be another VVD along the way at some point,like there was replacements for all the others whom chased the well pound.
