Well unless you are either of the two players I cited, masquerading as a forum member, you have as much chance of knowing what's going on in their heads as I do. I simply pointed out where we signed them from and why they came so there's really no need to be throwing insults around now is there.
I was told by someone who would have a good idea of what Bertrand thinks, that he wanted to go a few months ago. There's no logic behind the idea that because a player didn't break into the first team at a big club when they were still in their early 20's, that as established, top Premier League players they would be put off the idea of playing for a big club again. Also, if you were insulted by my previous post, then I can only apologise for your sensitivity.
At City and Liverpool he'd be first choice. It's not like he didn't sit on the bench here on from time to time.
The person that told me about Bertrand is as close as you can get without it being Bertrand himself. Accept that at the present time,he doesn't want to be here.
Guys on forum tell you he's leaving, and now he gets told to .....off. Perhaps we could wait a little while before hanging the guy out to dry.
I've watched his body language and since Christmas he's been disinterested and more likely to be arguing with Jack or Maya and then getting caught out of position. I've been disappointed with him, I'd have thought that any player trying to catch the eye of a "top" club would be doing his damnedest to show how good he is. My post is just to say thanks to him, but also that, once again, contracts appear to mean nothing and players go where the money is. If it were up to me, I'd only allow players to move in the last year of their contracts (and clubs only to sell players in the last year too). I'm sorry to see him go, but if he has made up his mind, get him out asap before he poisons other players. Probably already done I admit, but, as the Moody Blues once said "if you gotta go, go now ...."
I know hee haw about the goings on at the club. In fact, I probably know more about Celtic than Saints because of where I live. I was simply responding to a keyboard warrior. Shame if he's really off but as many have said already, we have double cover.
Great track - bought the single. Wasn't it the only time Fairport were in the charts? Of course, reading my post, what I should have said was "Since you gotta go ..... go now ....". Mea Culpa ....
When fans say that we shouldn't sell players when they throw a moodie, then this is an example when it doesn't work ( unlike Snidders who worked hard). If a player sniffs an opportunity to earn more wages then you may as well get rid otherwise he generally stops giving 100%
We have cover for Bertrand, but our problem this season is that we've started to have more cover than quality. McQueen and Targett might be serviceable; I'd prefer better, though. Worried about another summer where we shore up a couple weaknesses at the cost of opening others.
May and wanyama played well despite missing out on a move...no point in not playing well. Depends on how handled or if you are an arse hole (aka a Lovren).
Only time Fairport were in the charts, and they provided one of the iconic moments of the late 1960's when they appeared on Top of the Pops dressed as French waiters etc., with Dave Swarbrick bowing his violin with a baguette. That Moody Blues track was also a great one, Denny Lane's last with the band before he went off to form Wings with the McCartneys I believe.
