Our striking options are decent enough, if unspectacular. The biggest issue there is that none of Pelle, Jay or Long are capable of creating too much for themselves (the occasional overhead kick or 45 yard strike aside), nor notably adept in building up play, placing quite a bit of pressure on the mids and wide players to fashion opportunities for them. Last year we were able to do so...when Tadic was healthy. When he got injured/saw his form drop/simply wasn't played on the left, our attack withered, with only Mane consistently looking like he might trouble the goal. And when we haven't been able to build through the centre of the park, we've often resorted to skipping it entirely with long balls. Consequently, a lot rides on the shoulders of Tadic and Clasie; the former for his ability to generate chances around the box, the latter owing to his ability to bridge possession between the defense/defensive mids and the attacking trio. We aren't blessed with a lot of creative/disruptive types, so the ones we do have will need to have big seasons if we're to score consistently.
Agree with the above; my addition is that our conversion of chances always seem on the low-side. We do not appear to get enough shots on target.
I believe there is a table which suggests only Arsenal are worse. I probably saw it on this thread some days ago.
