Saint_Ford, I'll play your game - I think Saints are going to make hard work of it, but I think we'll win by 2 clear goals. If Pompey win, I'll add 'Pompey are quite good really, all things considered' to my signature.
Steve Claridge has made his mind up who he thinks will win anyway: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/p...ites_1_3333722?commentspage=1#commentsSection Some interesting views from the Pompey intellectuals as well!
Claridge is only stating a fact that if the league leaders go to a team in the bottom half they will be considered favourites..doesn't mean we will win. However, Claridge has stated several times how good Saints look..he was right at the beginning of the season..time for us to regain that form and show the latest results are just a blip. We aren't playing terribly..we've just lost some sharpness. No reason to think we won't regain form against Pompey, but we'll probably still be top even if we don't.
Agreed! It's all mind games but do you remember the last two managers to try mind games: Gus Poyet and Paul Ince
With the big south coast derby approaching, Portsmouth are first to conceded face. The article below consists of Steve Claridge's thoughts on the game and although he has hopes of Pompey continuing their recent good form, he concededs the Saints are favourites to win the game. http://trifter.com/practical-travel/saints-are-favourites-insists-pompey-legend/
I just love how words are twisted by hacks. "Southampton will probably go into it favourites" is hardly insisting is it!
A source inside Camelot, the lottery people, has revealed that a man from Portsmouth was a recent winner in the nation's favourite weekly gamble. The lucky chap was delighted to announce that he had spent his winnings on a new player for his beloved Pompey. "If my three numbers come up and win me a tenner again," he added, "I'll gladly buy them another!"
