I wondered where this thread had gone - saw it early this morning ........... then it disappeared. I'll play. 1) I'm certain we're going to win but if we don't then 2) hhhmmmm.......... I shall put "Saints are the hadron collider of the championship". Will that do for you?
I am concerned about this match. Obviously, anyone with half a brain would accept thay Saints are the better team, one look at the table would confirm that. They are also playing great flowing football, so it shouldn't be a problem on Sunday? Well, perhaps but I worry about it. Firstly, we seem to have suffered injuries and a bit of a dip just at the time when Pompey have hit a rich vein of form (well, they have won 2 games back to back) and then we have just suffered a draw at home after 20 straight victories at St Marys. This could scar our players deeply. There is no doubt that Pompey could not have chosen a better time to play the Saints this season, so will they cause an upset? Will they win at FP and "celebrate" joyfully like last time in Pompey? On balance, I am going to say no. I think we will just have enough. And should I be proved wrong, then I shall not hide. I will come back on to face the jeers of the BF, ......just after checking the league table.
Rich, Pompey fans have the faith, you have the hope, but don't expect any charity from us on Sunday PUP PPU
It's a local derby folks nobody wants to lose those. Its natural to want to beat your nearest rivals no matter what the consequences. It is not going to be a walk over for either team that's for sure but in reality in this league this year non of the games are!!! We are the clear favourites again but our away form of late leaves a lot to be desired. That has kind of evened things out a bit. For me it has a score draw written all over it. As long as it is a good clear clean game that for me is the is the most important thing and of course an outright win for the Saints would be the icing on the cake.
The Pope visited Portsmouth and asked "Anyone with 'a special need' who wants to be prayed over, please come forward to the front by the altar." With that, a young Skate got in line, and when it was his turn, the Pope asked, "My son, what do you want me to pray about for you?" The Skate replied, "Your Holiness, I need you to pray for help with me hearing." The Pope put one finger of one hand in the Skate’s ear, placed his other hand on top of his head, and then prayed and prayed and prayed. He prayed a great prayer, and the whole congregation joined in with great enthusiasm. After a few minutes, the Pope removed his hands, stood back and asked, "Young man, how is your hearing now?" The young Skate answered, "I dunno. It ain’ 'til next week....."
Here for Southampton, Your only here for Southampton, Here for Southampton, Your only here for Southampton! Average gate - 14,000(?) Saints game - 19,000(?)
That is the most condiscending piece of pap I've read in a while. Lapras has it right about coming before a fall. Yes, you're team has done very well so far- but so far they've won nothing...and there's still a long way to go. Don't get too smug just yet.
