Ok, so is it just me that has some problems with Player at the moment? The buttons to play, stop expand etc seem to be hidden below the screen so it's difficult to control the footage. I also have noticed that the resolution of the action seems to be discernably better on the free BBC stream than on the subscription player. Don't get me wrong, I think player is fair value and gives extras that are worthwhile, (I particularly like listening to the excuses from opposing managers, which I can see by logging into their "player") but it is an annoyance.
So, if any of you are thinking, "doesn't he know anything about computers?" and can tell me how to get around the control problem I would love to hear from you. And has anyone else noticed the quality issue?
 
I haven't got this issue at the moment, although I had something similar in the past with the live commentary volume button seeming "off-centre".

Basically, when my mouse was hovering over it it wasn't working when I clicked. Don't know why.

Your problem, really not a clue CF. Just thought I'd post as I'm not having this issue.
 
As I am outside the UK the option of the BBC player is not open to me so I have to stick with saints player. It often is very slow to load but I think that is due to the slow speed available here and not down to player itself. To remedy this I usually watch when the rest of the country is sleeping or let the article in question run through completely then press replay and it then seems to work fine. I am not able to offer anything more technical than that.
 
I've had issues in the past with various video players 'tracking' along with the mouse scroll; it'll initially be positioned such that the buttons are accessible, but if you move down the page, the video follows while the player itself does not, which ends up with the player covering things that it shouldn't.

Also, what browser are you using?

Just boring old IE. I also noticed that when using this site that the individual posts have scroll bars to the right which weren't there before. Wondered if I had inadvertently changed the browser settings but I am not great with this sort of thing.
 
I'd say to give it a try in Chrome or Firefox, if you can. Problem might not be IE, but the older versions of it used to give me fits when trying to stream video.
 
Firefox works much better than IE when I'm using my PC. If I'm on my iPad, which always seems to be faster than the PC off my router, I use Photon so I can get Saints Player to work.
