Let's say this has no positive impact whatsoever on the home atmosphere. At the very least it will reduce the loudness of the away end - that much was said by Parsons in a soundbite from the BBC that I listened to. He said that acoustic experts have found that noise from behind the goals is louder and has a bigger impact. So at the very least, moving away fans to a corner and/or side will reduce their loudness, even if it doesn't increase ours. If away fans are moved to behind the chapel, then ignore the above
^^This. As we are so quiet sometimes, we need to make sure the away fans aren't louder than they are. Also, we get to attack home ends both halves rather than giving the away team and advantage (usually in the second half) attacking towards their fans.
This is possibly the most important point of all. The whole issue isn’t simply about providing a better atmosphere, it’s about creating the most conducive conditions to support and encourage the team on the pitch.
Would like to see a wall of sound at the Northam It can be one dimensional some times as well, let's go the whole hog, safe standing, sound and vision, flags, scarves etc, wouldn't mind our own barmy army at times , drum being banged etc
I think a bell on it's own would be quite enough thanks. I can't see how someone pleasuring themselves would improve the atmosphere anyway. Although after giving it more thought, it is something all the Northam might join in with.
Surprised we've not heard anything else on this yet. If we're hoping to implement this next season you'd think there'd have time be quite a bit of notice to allow for a longer ST renewal process. ST prices normally come out around April don't they?
Most likely, but say that's the play offs as looks most probable, then end of May announcement doesn't leave huge amounts of time for thousands of people to move their seats before the renewal process even starts properly. There's huge swathes of the ground which will be relocating this Summer if these changes go ahead so it's not going to be a normal renewal process (or you'd hope not anyway).
