I was in the North West at Uni in the mid to late 90s. A friend and I picked a PL game to go and watch, which incidentally turned into one of the best games I have ever seen, certainly as a neutral when you don't have any affiliation to either side. 10th December 1994. The game was Blackburn Rovers v Southampton at Ewood Park, or more accurately Sutton and Shearer v Le Tissier. A quite brilliant display of attacking football from both sides, I only hope the game on Tuesday is as entertaining. Le Tissier on that day was outstanding.
Yes remember that game well. Pity we couldnt have kept the Shearer MLT partnership together for longer.
Certainly one of the goals, which was simply audacious. Beat 3 defenders before driving the ball into the top corner from what seemed like 30 yards. The goal is regularly voted on as one of the top 10 PL goals ever scored. I still have the match programme and ticket stub somewhere! As a fan of football, Le Tissier was just an absolute magician with the ball, also it was refreshing to see a player spend his whole career with one club. He's probably my favourite non City footballer over the last 20 years.
Never mind one of the top 10, it was probably the best. In fact, Le Tiss might have scored the two best goals in PL history.

I cant make the match and plan to watch it in a pub in Southampton....so any Southern based city fans PM me and I will let you know where. It should be a good game, with our new additions and lets face it we had an easier match yesterday. City 3 Soton 2 my prediction (or hope)
It will be interesting to see how we perform against Southampton, given that they are the only team this season to really rip us apart. Hopefully it'll be a much tighter affair. I fancy a Long and/or Jelavic inspired 2-1.
There'll be better informed people to correct any errors and add some meat, but in short, the Club, protest group, Supporters Club, Football supporters federation, local FA's, Local Council, Premier League and other bodies have made submissions to the FA stating their relevant cases. The FA will consider each and is due to give its opinion/judgement in April. The campaign group's submission is on the link. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/248995-CTWD-meeting-with-the-FA Here's the local FA's submission. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/249249-East-Riding-FA-official-response-to-The-FA
Agreed, although throw West Ham in there too. Hull I couldn't begrudge taking three points off us but we definitely owe Sunderland and West Ham a good going over, and possibly a few injuries if we were feeling really malicious.
The game on Tuesday will be a tough game, Southampton have picked up their form after struggling after their great start. We should be looking to get a point, it's one of the easier home games that we face in the run in, so we should be looking for something.
All this mutual arse nipping whenever we play Saints is disturbing me. With all respect Southampton fans - We'll thrash you ****s on Tuesday just like we did at the KC last time you hammered us at yours. Aluko will be supplying the bullets and our deadly duo up front will tear you apart. 5-1 to us and a long journey home for you.
That would suit us just fine, in fact I would take the draw Tuesday if you can stuff the Black cats Saturday.
Relieved work has given me the week to recover from jetlag so I can watch the whole match - though will be odd watching on TV. Really think we can win this one.
