As you well know, most often great art derives from struggle. Hence why many good musicians who reach success become staid by their third album whereupon money and comfort come into the picture.

That pic is from an album recording session today. I can very confidently say, musically we have something genuinely exciting and......proper.....to unleash soon.

 

I so hope she makes it where you both want her to make it to Laces. For both of you *




*and for me, so when the kids come home from college or University in two or three years time sporting Fable T-shirts, I can give it the, "Yeah, yeah, I was there when...."

I’ve seen her live. Twice.

 

Four years ago today we lost one of the great Songwriter/Musicians whose influence was huge, Lewis Allan (Lou) Reed died of liver failure at his home in Southampton, New York State.
Listening to my older brother's copy of theTransformer album was one of my first music loves and the New York album is still one of my all time top five.

Maybe we were, but we didn't know better.

 

Ha! you couldn't get any less "pretentious" than Lou Reed's songwriting, he cut through all the B/S and told it how it was...

 

Happy 60th birthday to the quintessential Post Punk Drummer, Stephen Morris of Joy Division and New Order who was born in Macclesfield in 1957.
His sparse, rhythmical beats are crucial to the overall sound of the genre and were often copied after....

 

And Happy Birthday to another experimental musician who invented a new sound, William Reid, Lead Guitarist of The Jesus And Mary Chain was born in East Kilbride 59 years ago.

He created 60s style melodic guitar work laden with feedback for a unique sound on their debut album Psychocandy...
