Remarkably little Procol Harum on here. I think I saw Conquistador near the beginning of this thread but apart from that... Anyway, I'm going to change that. You can put your Salty Dog on later. Here is Whiter Shade of Pale: And my favourite Procol Harum track, Pandora's Box:
No new faces.? Here's some old faces. Not Small Faces [OK, they had been but now they were bigger], just The Faces and some proper gritty Rock & Roll. Stay With Me: And if that wasn't enough here's I'm Losing You as well:
Love Pink. I have only seen her live on TV and she does a great show. A very talented lady. I would love to see her live one day. She has strong opinions and doesn't mind viewing them, I like that.......especially as I agree with a lot of them.
This has popped into my head, can't think why?... It's not about the money,money,money..we don't need your money,money,money.....forget about the price tag
And another legend has his 71st birthday today, Barry Gibb, the eldest brother and leader of the Bee Gees was born on the Isle of Man in 1946. Shaun Ryder is famously a fan and describes this song as "hard as ****"..
Great musician ("Astral Weeks" quite possibly my most favourite album of all time) - Miserable old sod with no respect for the fans who made him wealthy .........................
Ain't that the truth. Astral Weeks is a work of towering genius created by a 22 year old veteran of the music business. 50 years on Sir Ivan is a curmudgeonly old misanthrope who nobody likes but everyone wants to work with. "You breathe in, you breathe out"...
I've got Astral Weeks in my LP collection. Pretty good, but I prefer Moondance as an album, which I don't have. No, I can't figure that one out either. It just hasn't happened yet. Probably never will. Wavelength is pretty good too. Got that. Favourite track off my favourite VM is, ...And It Stoned Me:
First in an occasional series of songs that I found myself liking against my own judgement. This example from Scritti Politti is typical. Despite my attempts to not like it. I couldn't help myself. It is empty, pap pop with a reggae beat. Which is probably why I couldn't help myself. The Word Girl:
It's like a guilty secret. One of mine too. It's ok though, because he followed up with the same song with different words, allowing us all to cough deeply, saying "He's ****."
