Today would have been the late, great John Prine’s birthday, if we hadn’t lost him due to Covid back in April. If you don’t know his music, I’d urge you to give it a listen, if only for the lyrics. He saw things and wrote about them Like Dylan, but in an amusing way.
This one particularly resonates with me, because, a few years ago, I got a divorce for Christmas and the lyrics are just perfect :emoticon-0103-cool:

Stop Press! The dog poo man has followed up with something that translates as golden praise:

“ ....but genuinely fair play to the girl for having a go & being a bit different to all of this prepackaged Simon Cowell defined ****! Good luck to her!!“

Wow. I’ve never heard him say anything like that! I need to sit down.

Human league would be in there too
    Paul Young - No Parlez
Madonna - True Blue (I know!!!)
    Bob Marley - Legend
    Duran Duran - Rio
The Jam - Snap (if I’m allowed best hits)
    Madness - Complete Madness
    Breaking Glass - soundtrack/Hazel O’Connor
    Top Gun - soundtrack

Off the top of my head and with no apologies!!
