This might not appeal to everyone but it happens to be one of my 'go to' tracks when I feel a bit out of sorts. Not sure why, but it just gets me back in the groove and out of feeling down. The lyrics shouldn't do that, but somehow the song just makes me smile, and that I guess is the whole point of music .....
Perfect for isolation, with or without stimulants. Jerry & co. at the peak of their powers. Oh, and Bertha, don’t you come around here any more.
So I ended up buying Enya's greatest hits (or at least her greatest hits as of 1997). It's hard to pick just one Enya song as she's done so many wonderful songs, but this still remains my very favourite. Reminds me of childhood holidays, my dad (I think) had the album Memory of Trees and I remember listening to it in the car. I've always liked it since then. It makes me think of... journeys . Both literal and in a metaphorical journey through life kind of way.
Played bass with him on guitar doing Red House. I’m no bass player but his style is so compelling I was playing out of my skin!
Sadly not, it was at a jam night at the White Hart in Midsomer Norton! I do have a few bits and bobs with the band I’m in on YouTube though, I’ll try and find something! By the way, Roger’s wife Annie is an amazing tenor sax player!
Good stuff, i'd never have the nerve to sing in front of people! My Dad had a wonderful tenor voice and used to sing on stage and my Niece does the local circuit (she does a mean Paloma Faith) and sang at SMS before when a certain Gareth Bale asked her out and she refused him!...
