    The great Tom Harrell -born today in 1942. An amazing musician , irrespective of the difficulties he has had to overcome. This is his most famous composition. I have a book of his lead sheets and the music is extremely difficult and peppered with awkward, altered chords and weird harmonic shifts.

    One of my brothers was the master of the "ulterior motive present". He would buy you an LP of someone you never even said you liked (Level 42 for example) and then copy it on a cassette before giving it to you!. He once gave me Trivial Pursuit, but I found out that he had already had an evening of playing with his mates and then had the temerity to keep *borrowing it afterwards.
