Went to Wimborne tonight (big trip out for me ) to see “Cloudbusting” - A Kate Bush tribute band. Was a tad sceptical, but, boy, were they worth it! Superb stuff and the vocalist really nails the songs!

I really enjoyed that film, having been unaware of Joe Meek previously. The bathtub bass drum sound was genius. He was another tortured by his (then illegal) sexuality sadly.
It's that old thing about "genius being close to madness", Spector is a bit of a nutter too!.... Apparently Meek was tone deaf too, he used to convey his songs to Chas Hodges ( later of Chas and Dave) who worked with him at the time, who somehow deciphered what Meek was telling him and converted it into chord structures.
