    I was a big fan of Paul Young. I had a customer who drinks with him and he kindly got me a signed photo two years ago, however that’s not my favourite story about him.

    I’m 1991 or 92, I stopped at Leicester services on the M1. It happened to be Comic Relief Day. As I walked in, there was a bloke leaning against the wall by the loos wearing a pair of comic glasses and a red nose, so as to slightly disguise him. I asked him if he was who I thought he was and he replied asking who I thought he was. I said that he looked like Paul Young with a red nose and funny glasses. I asked if he would wait there as I actually had his first solo album on cassette in my car and if I ran to st it would he sign it. He duly did. By the time I returned he was then stood with his band who he had been waiting for by the loos and told them they had to wait for this bloke to come back to sign the cassette. He duly signed it and then went on his way. Made my day.


    * a cassette was a tool for the playing of music, for the younger listeners wondering. :)
