Yes, you are TSS. I wanted to know who Saints fans thought was the best leader of men by their actions and motivation of the team.
I chose Jimmy Case, and it's obvious that he wasn't the most gifted player in the list, but possibly my favourite season of following the Saints was the 1989/90 season when he and Cockerill anchored the midfield and gave freedom for the front four (yes FOUR!) to express themselves. Jimmy was immense that season in a youthful, but exciting side.

He was the first captain I really remember so as a young kid he was obviously inspirational to me. Plus, he was captain when we got promoted to the top division for the first time in our history (I think) so he can't have been all bad.

Was Killer never captain? My memory is hazy, but it feels like he should have been!

Yeah I think you're right. With a smattering of Le Tiss.

Chris Marsden was the Captain for the successful Strachan period, Claus was indeed Captain, but that was later when we were dropping through the leagues. Killer was made Club Captain after he returned from his serious injury and he never actually played in the same team as Matty.

That was my pick too. Peter Rodrigues was fine Captain, great defender and motivator.

I've gone for Alan ball but agree it could now be a toss up with Jose. I would mention Peter Rodrigues in dispatches as well

I went for Alan Ball but I still think that JWP has all the right attributes to make an incredible captain in the future.
