Well I'm glad you're not the manager. The team needs improving in January for gods sake!

Not that many in January, surely? I'd save major changes until the summer.

I didn't say all them changes in Jan. I was commenting on how Olly thinks the squad will stay the same for a few seasons. In Jan I reckon we will get on 2 players max.

Would like to see another 'decent' CB brought in, as I don't have much faith in Hooiveld or Yoshida. Yes, they are capable, but they make too many individual mistakes. Another playmaker would be ideal, and Danny Ings, as was mentioned yesterday, would be a shrewd move.

Winger in January, CB, striker and back-up goalie in the Summer. I don't think our system suits an AMC, as shown with Ramirez, as the no. 10 needs to link with the CMs as well as the attackers, and Ramirez only did the latter as he didn't have the work ethic. That's why I like Davis playing as a false no. 10.

Cork and Schneiderlin were good, but they were the only two holding midfielders we had. Now if you look through our squad the only position we lack in is a genuine wide player.

If the plan is to get into the top 4 we need a bit more creativity up top.

Oh, and today is Fonte's 30th birthday. He's not finished but looking for another CB certainly wouldn't be a bad idea.

And back up keeper and back up cb's. The ones we have are ok but if we want to push on. Which we certainly do as the whole club is ambitious they will be replaced. It's the club we are now.

You won't find many players better than Yoshida or Hooiveld that would be content with being rotation/squad players. Some scenario applies to Danny Fox also.

On a side note, does anyone genuinely believe we could get In to the top four ? I can see possibly 5/6th but I'd say there's little chance of a top four finish

It depends if we keep the same squad no way. If we improve and add to the team each season(which we hqve been doing) I am not ruling it out. It's kinda scary how ambitious our team is these days.

I remain positive that Hooiveld's beard is giving him new strength and turning him into Olof Mellberg. Just one CB for me.

I don't totally rule it out but I have to say I can't really see how it can be done. In 1990 the Big Five were Liverpool, Everton, Man Utd, Arsenal and Tottenham. 23 years later the only clubs to have joined that group are Chelsea and Man City, and both have done it by spending hundreds of millions on players and wages. We're not going to be able to spend that kind of money so it's hard to see how we can break into that group.

I don't mind Hooiveld staying if Yoshida goes. But we can't keep both.

Pretty much my view exactly, you can still be ambitious and aim for the top 8 or top 6.
