Last time I wanted rid of something. True story!

Yeah, the only chance for us is if they believe someone else could take him. There's nothing really (other than Poch mumbling "todo es posible") to suggest that though.

For the reasons I gave and 13,000,000 big ones, I'd say yes, it does make him our WORST ever transfer.

And the hordes of Italian journalists (even the credible ones!) that indicated that other Italian clubs -- and Valencia -- were interested. But yeah, I mean, other that that...

The implication was such that he was some kind of transfer market/tactical genius (it's spread across your posts), which is something we're now lacking. I extrapolated (perhaps incorrectly) from that. Either way, I find your original assertion bizarre. But it's yours and yours alone, and you can take it home, cook for it and cuddle it if you wish.

Why? We will recoup most of that this summer when we sell him. He came in and looked good in games, but has temper issues and it didn't work out, get over it.

I imagine Juventus have their finger on the pulse of what's really going on, but if they are basing their approach on what the press think, well, the press pretty unanimously think he's going to Juve. Other clubs might be interested, and might even offer better terms than Juventus have, but Osvaldo can't be forced to go anywhere he doesn't want to.

You're not making sense. His re-sale value doesn't justify him being a good transfer, he was practically anonymous on the pitch and clearly disruptive of the pitch. I'm well and truly over it, in fact...i was never even under it.

It's a transfer that didn't work out, certainly not our worst. I raise you Anthony Pulis & Tommy Forecast.

Well, Pulis was free, and on pocket money. Forecast... well, if you are one of the people who likes to value him as the most expensive goalkeeper in history on account of the Bale sell-on sell-off, then sure. He was really a freebie though, we sold off that right in exchange for the money which kept us in business.

Wonder if Poch can do a swap deal for a new crystal ball, old one not been up to scratch.

I don't recall either of them hitting a fellow team mate.

Awful players that we were lumbered with. I don't consider the fee for Osvaldo an issue at all as it's the Premier League, money isn't an issue and we took a punt on an International striker that showed flashes of brilliance but has a short fuse, I would be happy enough to see him stay if he sorted his head out.

    This.

The best team in the Italian league clamouring to sign him. Says it all. If he ha settled he would have been amazing for us. If you don't gamble, you don't win. Cut our losses, and move on. Stop being a drama queen.

Gambling is usually a quick way to lose money, as it has proven in this case.

It's not your money it's the money of a wealthy club with someone making sound financial decisions.

Every football transfer is a gamble.

He's certainly been the most disappointing signing.

I didn't say it was my money?

You could say that every transfer is a gamble, but the stakes were higher and the odds longer on this occasion than most.

I can't disagree with that. But he's nowhere near the worst signing ever for us as he is a quality player. It didn't work out. These things happen. There are countless examples of good players not fitting in at new clubs.

We signed an international quality striker for 15 odd million. Little old saints showed massive ambition. Can't understand why you lot are so glum to be honest. If we sell him for the same money and sign another striker in the summer will you all stop moaning?
