Because there are other big clubs in Italy that do not feature Llorente and Tevez up front, and this is a World Cup year?

I wouldn't be annoyed if I thought that you genuinely believed what you're arguing, but I don't, because you're a fairly intelligent person and thus have to recognize that it's highly unlikely that we've literally given him away to a team that spends over €100m a year in wages with the capacity to spend more.

I'm sorry to butt into this convo, but you're genuinely talking the biggest load of bollocks I've ever read.

The worst part of Adkins management was his transfers and impact subs, you're literally talking nonsense. Lee forte etc had one good game per season.

Say's the man who's account is in the name of the worst Saints transfer of all time.

A Serie A winners' medal is going to look pretty good on his CV. Won't do his world cup chances any harm at all, and he's likely to play more of a part there than he is here now.

I don't genuinely believe we are getting nothing (though we might be), but I'd be pretty amazed if they're covering more than half of his wages. Why would they offer more?

No, Osvaldo is the clear front runner for worst Saints transfer. Played 15 times, scored 3 goals, got suspended by the FA for kicking the Newcastle goalie coach in the bollocks then punches a team mate in the face. The only person who comes close is the legendary Agustin Delgado.

Adkins did some good subs, like against Man City, but did some awful ones, like against Man Utd.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Adkins, his man-management and tactics were amazing for us. But to say we miss his transfers over pochettino is mental.

Lovren, Wanyama, and yes Osvaldo are leagues above the calibre of players that Nige was signing.

You're forgetting how highly he is rated in Italy. I bet they're paying his full wages, which would be tiny compared to a lot of their players

Can you think of a reason that might be the case? :)

I'm not forgetting it, I just don't see what difference it makes.

I agree, he was perhaps out of his depth in the Premier league (which i think is also debatable) But the players that people write off as being failures, almost all played an important role at some point or another.

Because the difference between half and all of his wages is something like €250-300k, or 0.2% of their payroll.

You're surely not serious? I never said he was ****, I said he was a failure. Which is undoubtedly true.

When was the last time you paid more than you had to for something because it was less than 0.2% (or any percentage) of your salary?

We will ask for a large percentage of his wages, or we wouldn't let him go.

Have some faith in our negotiators PTF. When was the last time you sold something for less than it's value?

Yeah, he's clearly so much better than Poch.......(such a very strange opinion, but it's yours. You're entitled to it).

When my ****ing rivals are also aiming to acquire the same asset, I'm unlikely to haggle over what amounts to a rounding error, not to mention that "paid more than you had to" remains a matter solely of your own speculation.
