I have to say, I'll be immensely disappointed if we don't get anyone in. The "one in & one out" that Mauricio quoted on Tuesday seems to have quickly escalated into none in & 3 out. We miss the impact players that Nigel was good at identifying.

Is it just me that is actually quite sad about this situation. Really liked the thought of us having this Italian loon up top banging in goals for us

It's disappointing but if it works out we make a profit. I was more on about PTF going on about Juve not paying all his wages.

Why would that be a joke? Nigel's greatest strength were his tactics. He was brilliant at choosing and buying the right substitutes that made an impact.

I may be playing devil's advocate, or being contrarian as you put it (I dispute that it's pointless), but it's very obvious we're not going to be getting the better side of this deal. Juventus are the only club that are seriously in for him (or that he will agree to go to). Either we have to accept that he might stay, or we have to accept whatever terms Juventus are prepared to offer.

Yeah, I am really disappointed about how this has turned out too.

I still like Osvaldo. He's a classy player and a really interesting character too when you read about him and hear him speak.

But he's evidently a loon in the sense that he simply cannot control himself and he also struggles to settle for any serious length.

A damn shame, but the right decision from the powers that be at SFC to ensure team spirit and dressing room unity remains.

He is a top Championship manager, no doubt.

    De Ridder? Forte? N'Guessan? Bignall?

Iago Falque, we never really saw enough of.

Chaplow was a decent impact on the side, that one is fair enough.

Possibly Lee. Definitely Sharp, for the time he was with us at the end of the Championship season.

Does anyone have the facepalm handy? If there was one thing Nigel was terrible at it was timely substitutions....

Unless you mean substitutes as in replacement players? Weren't you one of the people vehemently claiming that Nicola bought all the players?

Do you honestly think Nigel was a better 'recruiter' than Poch? Wow.

Forte, De Ridder and N'Guessan all contributed and had an important impact in certain games. Chaplow was excellent, Sharp was excellent, Lee looked excellent and with another year in the Championship would have been a decent acquisition.

You could say that about literally every player in the world.

But to get to that point, you've posited a series of increasingly unlikely scenarios where Juve is either the only team in at any price, or the only team Osvaldo will go to. There's zero reason to believe that either half of that is correct beyond wishing to argue that it is so.

Thanks for the contribution. Forte basically scored the two most important goals in our league one season. N'Guessan got 2 assists in our away game at Exeter where we won it in the last minute. De Ridder had significant contributions and goals against Coventry, Reading and Cardiff.

How is it unlikely that Osvaldo has decided he's only interested in Juventus? He's almost guaranteed to win the scudetto if he goes there. Why would he consider going anywhere else? To financially help out a club that is forcing him out? I wish it wasn't so, but logic isn't on your side here.

    Sorry your manatee(?) is upset.

It's easier to buy players that can make a impact in League 1 etc. It's much harder (and costs more)to find a player that can make a instant impact in the Prem.

That's just stating the obvious. Just because they cost more doesn't mean they don't exist.
