I would still like to see Ince come to us...fits our player profile and could be very useful
Be a waste seeing him go to some of those clubs he has been linked with

Fair enough. Assuming the loan fee is the 2m eur being tossed about, that's only a loss of about £2.5m. Worth it for the City goal alone.

I am holding back because it's just rumour but I would actually be so excited if Vucinic came on loan.

Same here, I think he's better than Osvaldo anyway.

Montenegro striker/attacking midfielder. Very classy player. I would have reservations about his ability to adapt to the premier league in such a short time, but if he did he would be a hell of a signing.

I'm not sure what we'd do with him. He's kind of a second striker for Juventus, and we don't really do those. He can also play on the flank, which I suppose he could do if we played Jay up front. Or we could play Mirko as the leading man, but I'm not sure he's done that since his Lecce days (which were extremely successful, in fairness).

The benefit of that being that they still get to use Barca's facilities. If we loaned players out to lower league clubs, they'd be playing competitively but would also be using worse training facilities. It's better they stay and use our state-of-the-art stuff.

He could play in a similar way to Lambert, dropping off and allowing space for the likes of Rodriguez and Lallana to run into.

I get that, but roughing it for 3 months could be the making of some players. A short loan is extremely unlikely to set them back anyway.

Yeah, but if the rumors are correct, he would only be coming as a loan so all we would need from him this year is more than we got/will get from Osvaldo (which frankly seems like it will be pretty close to nothing or possibly less than nothing).

Then we can make the move for a permanent striker over the summer when there will be more options, possibly utilizing the funds from the sale of Osvaldo.

Yeah a lot of people seem to be expecting him to be a straight up Osvaldo replacement, when he's not, really. I can't recall ever really seeing him as a proper striker but he's not a great goalscorer, which a lot of people seem to expect from him.

He's not at all like Osvaldo, but he's not a bad goalscorer by any means. He has averaged about 1 in 3 over the last few seasons, and gets as many assists. I would say he's a much more natural fit to our style of play, if anything.

04-05 season for Lecce he scored 22 in 31. He's not really been a club's leading striker since then but in all of the last six seasons he's reached double figures in all competitions. So I guess he would be a decent scorer if we played him up top.

Yeah he's got a decent scoring record, but keeping in mind he'd need to adjust to the league and all that, I'd not count on him being the saviour of our season.

I know he's not a bad goalscorer, it's just not exactly a particular strength of his. Records like 14 in 43, 10 in 35 and 11 in 37 (his last three years) aren't exactly prolific.

That rather begs the question of whether our season needs a saviour.

True, but for a short term deal it would be interesting, and a v.good solution to the Osvaldo problem (if he's going), then we can reorganise in the summer. In our position we can afford to be patient. But I'm really not good at foreign football so simply going off the name. All he really needs to do is score the winner in the FA Cup Final :) again assuming this all goes beyond rumour mill status.
