That's kind of an oversimplification. It depends on how much danger you might reasonably think you could be in, rather than how much danger you're actually in.

 

Regardless of the legal aspects of it all, I suspect everyone on here has had a falling out with a mate and I expect more than a few have ended up with a punch thrown. Yet the next day or so things are sorted out and all is good again. Only the squad know what is really happening but claims of assault (although legally accurate) are probably going a bit far. A mate head butted a mate, it happens.

 

Peach says business to be done on Wednesday and Thursday, as Saints don't want anything left to deadline day.

Friday they are training and then packing their stuff and heading for Fulham!

 

Agreed Si. For the squad to be making a terminal (for his career here) fuss about a single hot-headed incident on a training ground, I suspect there must be more ways he's not fitted in than just this incident.

Must say, I'll be terribly disappointed if this signals the end for him here. Not because of what he did in this incident, but because we weren't able to rehabilitate him, and because in some sneaking way I just feel this could have been an opportunity to get him really stoked (!) to do great things for us.

But of course, I have no insight into the depth to which this runs.

 

Being suggested in Italy that Juventus will loan Osvaldo for the rest of the season, and send us Mirko Vucinic in return.

 

Both loans? If so, that might work.

Well lots of things have been suggested in Italy so I'm not getting too excited yet. Vucinic could be brilliant for us but a 3 month loan is not a lot of time to make an impact and it's far from certain he'd even want to come here, or feel motivated to play well for us in that time.

Sounds promising doesn't it, ok he isn't the young wonder kid we hope is going to become the next Messi, but he's an extremely experienced player who will get us through to the summer. Smart deal if true I think.

 

TuttoSport in Italy saying Juventus are keen to take Osvaldo off our hands, and have offered one of Vucinic or Quagliarella on loan in return.

Sky Italia say Juventus have representatives in the UK today to meet with someone from Southampton.

They want to agree a loan with an agreement for Osvaldo in the summer, but Saints want €18m. Prepared to offer Vucinic as part of deal.

 

Presumably not a yellow card offence if you keep your shirt on
