So Timothee and Manolon in this transfer window?! That is quite a hefty amount of potential money.

Not saying 100% he won't come in and score goals. But history suggests even fit players take a bit of time to adapt to the PL. can't bank on a player like this being the answer to our goal drought.

I agree, but then you can't say that for any player no matter where they're from.

Tbf though, I doubt many of our fans would be looking at someone to come in and hit the ground running from the word go. I think most people appreciate that it doesn't generally work like a magic wand. We just someone (of quality) signed.

Any player we bring in will have to adapt to our style of playing as well as the premier league. Players that genuinely fit in quickly, or hit the ground running, as far as goal scoring is concerned are usually proven goal scorers. These players usually will have played at a similar level.
No doubt the last forward to hit the ground running was a certain Ricky Lambert. Although he certainly wasn't totally match fit or at least up to the level of the rest of our players. Mind you didn't he do well for himself? He got stuck in and proved his worth. So why not this new fella, could be he could do the same?

To be fair though, Rickie might have struggled a bit if he'd joined us in the Premier League from Bristol Rovers!

To be fair I'd say Pelle adapted pretty quickly.

To be fair, I think Rickie would adapt again for the rest of the season...

Often new strikers get a fair few goals early on e.g. Jelavic for Everton, as defenders do not know them, their preferences or how to stop them. Only truly good strikers are prolific in the long run.

That is three "to be fair" comments. Who wants to be fair. This is football and life just isn't fair.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said the club will not bid to sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, 25, in January. (Sky Sports)

I'm still laughing at the Everton fans who think they have a chance of getting him.

It's even funnier that Koeman thinks he has a chance.

Yeah, it's a hoot. It's like those same Evertonians who thought they could get our manager to break his word and join them. Ridiculous

According to the printed version of leading French news outlet L’Equipe, as reported by Sport Witness, Southampton are interested in Caen youngster Jean-Victor Makengo.

The combative midfielder has been drawing comparisons to that of Chelsea star N’Golo Kante, given that he has emerged through the Caen youth system and operates in the same midfield role, providing energy and tenacity in his play.
Makengo has already made seven senior appearances for his side this season, with six of them coming in Ligue 1 and four of them being starts. The 18-year-old also managed to score twice in Caen’s 4-2 Coupe de la Ligue third round exit against Nancy.

The report states that although Saints are casting a keen eye over the young Frenchman’s progress, they may be faced with stiff competition if Caen are unable to resist the bigger clubs’ interest.

European powerhouses AS Roma and Sevilla are two sides that are also interested in Makengo.
