I doubt we get anything from the Schneiderlin sale. Surely the % sell on clauses are only on profit made on selling a player? Otherwise you are taking 2 losses on a player?

Not really. One has been being a ass for a long time now and one is happy and likes the club. Pretty simple in my book.

All the stuff ties in with what I have been saying on here tbf. The guy has changed since his World Cup win and moving to a new agent.

Can I ask people to use the name of the SW poster. It helps and means I don't have to go over there to see who it is.

Anyone know if it is on profit or just sale price? I would think sale price (think, not know) because otherwise a team might lower the price slightly to avoid having to pay the previous team.....though I realise that would be unlikely.

Price not profit as far as I'm concerned.

It can be either, although I think % of profit deals are more common. Without knowing the exact details of his transfer we won't know for sure.

Just looked on Football Manager (which though fantasy is probably using the same rules as the real world). You can have either...% of profit or % of sale...though the buying club would obviously prefer the first option.

So if they sold him for £26M we could have 10% of £1M.
    That makes no sense.

It can be either on sale price or profit. We won't know which. United may have sold him to Barca for 50m and we'd get 10% of £25m

Yeah I just can't imagine buying clubs being too happy at having to spend 25m on a player then give away another 10% of the total of what they sell him for. Transfer deals are heavily incentive based with loads of clauses etc so never as black and white as I'm making out but I'd be very surprised if we actually got 25m anyway with Morgan not playing much at Utd, hopefully I am wrong and we did and we get 10% of any sell on fee

10% of £25m is peanuts really for a Premier League club.

Yeah but it is looking like Utd are going to be making roughly a £10m loss on Schneiderlin's transfer fee, just can't see any logic why a buying club would agree to a % on future sale price unless it was just on the profit. But we will never know so not really much point in discussing it and even if it is £1.5m or whatever isn't going to be a huge windfall for Saints.
