Transfer Rumours Saints January Transfer Window Rumour Thread

Unless you're in the relegation battle and have money to panic buy, January is not the time to spend big. I would be amazed if we made any signing upwards of £10m, regardless of what we need. Loan deals and signings of under £5m have generally been the feature of our January's (spending £10m to convert Bertrand's loan into a permanent deal doesn't really count - that was just us activating a clause which we wanted to activate, whether in January or in the summer).

Who can't get much game time so far this season in the PL?

Chelsea - Mikel, Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek
Liverpool - Sturridge (I would have included Ings, had he not been out for the season again)
Man City - Delph (A week ago I would have included Yaya. But maybe no point now? And anyway, entirely unrealistic)
Arsenal - Debuchy
Spurs - Carroll
Man Utd - Jones, Morgan, Schweinsteiger, Young, Depay (and the list doesn't end there of players who Jose would no doubt love to clear-out in an ideal world)
Everton - Gibson, Besic, Kone

I'm not sure that there's much point looking at the Championship, especially for strikers. Only six have scored more than Gallagher, and two of them are also PL loanees (and two of the remaining four have worse minutes-per-goals than Sam). Leaving Newcastle aside, there's not really any Austin type names down there this season. Hoolahan at best, maybe?

Sturridge on loan really is the obvious stand out to me. But whether that story has any truth in it whatsoever, who knows.
