If Trump comes anywhere near us I may have to start supporting Eastleigh until he gets bored and clears off. The stuff of nightmares
Yeah, because the Normans understood winning. They won a lot! But the wall is old now. Shabby. Sad! You can't win with a wall like that anymore.
I would be extremely upset if Katrina sold out completely. Her fathers wishes and legacy have yet to be completed if she is to do what she said she wanted to do after her fathers death. That was to build a new or increase the stadium capacity as well as get the team to be a match for any team in the world. To be able to fully compete with the best. She ain't there yet.
I don't remember her promising a new stadium. We were never going to be under their ownership forever.
What would happen if this all turned out to be us looking to the Chinese firm to build us a new stadium. A £200 mil stadium... I can dream can't I?
I don't get all this speculation about a new stadium. How often do we sell out the one we already have, and how hard is it to get tickets to games?
Spot on. Unless ticket prices are drastically reduced (not gonna happen) then there's no real need for it.
It's essential if we're to compete. Around the rest of the premier league teams are now building stadia twice the capacity of st marys. IMO our club was held back because of being stuck at the old dell. There is no better way of attracting supporters than the live match experience and how many fans did we lose on our doorstep to the bigger sides because kids couldn't get regular tickets in the 90s? St Mary's is good enough for now and probably another decade, but soon(like the dell) it could end up holding us back
You're first paragraph isn't really comparable to us as all of the clubs with around 60k or bigger have a much bigger fan base to support it. How many games this year so far would we have sold out even 45k for?
Those were Cortese's dreams, really. The talk of a new/larger stadium went out the window after he left...both Rogers and Kreuger publicly suggested that it wasn't in the offing. Largely, I suspect, because this has been the plan; stabilize, maximize the team's value, and then sell on.
If you don't speculate you can't accumulate is the motto surely. It is true that we have not sold out but on quite a few occasions there has not been enough tickets for the visitors and also according to the ticket office. There was not late-ish tickets available for some games. On a couple of occasions I can confirm that from a personal view. I could not get tickets for my sons when they flew in unexpectantly from the USA. However we did not record a full house which is weird.
