3-2 win. Players looked wrung out after being on for 5 mins....not good enough conditions to judge anything. We didn't shine and would have been punished by a better side, but some good stuff as well.
I was thinking the same. It was a decent workout for the team having said that. No one really pushed themselves too hard and overall Stephens and Hoedt did OK as the only two players to play 90 minutes+
Jiangsu did not take it too seriously but there were still some quality players out there - Boakye, Teixeira and Paletta for example.
Liking what l am seeing in these preseason games; no its not always fluid and there are some gaffs, but thats the point of the preseason. Its giving some headlines for Hughes to ponder and he seems to be experimenting the squad. For me; all positive so far in this respect.
Noted that SKD was in the dugout yesterday...he was moved from responsibility for players out on loan to a coaching role last season. I wonder how Hughes arrival has affected him...judging by comments from loanees that Saints were ignoring them, perhaps he needs to be moved back to his old role. I hope he has a real role and has not been marginalised too much.
Not sure you will get much from yesterday with regard to formation....especially when so many subs were made in order to give players a run out and to protect them against the energy-sapping conditions. Hughes will have an idea, but that may be affected by the new arrivals...especially at the back. There were 11 players on the pitch....that was all I got.

Very impressive finish. Had the look of a confident striker. Wonder how he would be against the self-proclaimed best defender in the world? When do we play Liverpool?
