I would be more than willing to meet the asking price. If we can get him for around 7 million pounds it would be a good deal. He is exactly the type of player we need if we are going to have a real go at making a big splash in the prem.

On a side note a lot of people on here seemed happy for a similar amount to be spent on Hooper, this guy is a level or two above. Genuinely exited by this move, is potentially as good as any attacking wide player in Premiership.

Give the Don a ring...he'll be thrilled that you can help raise the cash. He might even let you sit at the front of the bus next to Nige for 7 million.<laugh>

£7 million seems a lot of money, PSV must rate him fairly highly. Is there not anyone from the Premier League who would come at a similar price? Jarvis?

It's only slightly higher than what they bought him for so it makes a lot of sense. Jarvis would cost a bomb - if their asking price for Fletcher is £11m then what would it be for Jarvis??

If Nigel thinks he would be a good signing then I would be happy to see him come even for that price.

That's just it, over the past seasons I have gained so much respect for Adkins and Cortese, whoever they feel will bring something to the team, whatever the price they pay I will back them all the way.

Fair point, but to be fair Fletcher isn't worth nywhere near what they want. Not sure how well off they are so if they don't need to sell I'm sure they wont. But they certainly won't get fees like that for those two.

I don't really know what players are available in the prem for that sort of figure (£7m)? Would be interesting to make a comparison with them and Lens.

Not Prem, but Zaha would be available for around that much?

Bolton had to bid £9m to get permission to talk to Zaha in January, and Wolves are quoted as wanting £10m for Jarvis.

Zaha has shown glimpses of extremely good quality but can all too often disappear or fail to deliver a quality cross.

See Wigan want £10m for Moses, sounds a reasonable comparison.

I still laugh at people saying that a player is quality based on a youtube clip. If I had the inclination I could make Heskey look amazing in a 2:30 youtube clip.

Also £7 million is a hell of a lot of money. IF, and it's a big if, we do sign him for that much then he'll have an awful lot to live up to. I'd be expecting somebody better than Lallana to be honest.
