I was getting a little concerned with how much we were reported to be paying for Astori. I do kind of hope Cortese has pulled the plug on that. There are still plenty of quality players out there who can be signed for less than £5m. You just have to know where to look.

You don't always get twice the player for twice the price. Cortese was obviously willing to pay pretty high for a player we want, but (unlike some fans) will not pay stupid money. He knows there are other players out there.
