Original post now updated. Saints say any fan who is a STH and has attended 7 away games this season is guaranteed a ticket.
Not particularly impressed. Ok, the deal is really good and £5 is cheap, but it isn't difficult for Saints this. It is a nice away game, not too far away, and it is the last one of the season. To be honest, I would have liked to have seen them subsidise those trips to Sunderland for example, or even Man City today. Or even spaced it out a bit more. They are slashing one game entirely, which again I repeat is a great deal, but some supporters may not be able to reap the benefits despite going to lots of away games this season.
I think the whole idea of it is that it's the final away game. Fans traditionally go to really enjoy the last away game, sing a lot and have fun. The club are making that easier and doing their bit to create that environment. Well played SFC.
Would have sold out anyway. I know I may seem a bit negative, but the Swansea prices last season were reasonable prices, and we have had some really ridiculous prices this season for some games. Examples that spring to mind are City today, Spurs, Chelsea and Aston Villa in 2 weeks is quite frankly ludicrous for the team they are at the moment. It is a really nice gesture, and I applaud them for doing something, but they could have done it better. The prices in football are frankly way too high.
Not a great allocation then. I may still get a ticket, but I hope all those that went up to Sunderland (twice, and at stupid kick off times), City today, and Newcastle, are amongst those likely to get tickets.
Never mind you do have another choice Pompey v Plymouth Argyle Sky Bet League Two Saturday, May 3 Kick-Off: 3pm Season ticket holders: Monday, April 21 (10am) General sale: Wednesday, April 23 (10am) 2013/14 League Two matchday ticket prices Adult: £20 Senior (60+)/Young Person (17-22): £15 Junior (U17): £5
Oh dear. I have my travel plans in place and accommodation arranged. All I need now is two tickets which I doubt very much I will get. It isn't easy for Swansea fans to get tickets so I can't even ask my Welsh mates to get me tickets with them. It looks like it is going to have to be listening to Dave on Solent. I got really excited at the prospect of watching Saints away for £1.
I suspect that not all of the seven game ST's will be able to take advantage of this generous offer so there may be hope for some others yet.
Well surprise surprise, some people aren't happy with what the club have done. It is impossible to please everyone! Godders, if I can't go, I'll get you a ticket if you like. I'll know tomorrow if I can go.
That is kindness itself. I am going to telephone today to see if my old Welsh mates can get me a couple of tickets in with them.
Villa charged £25 adult for Swansea. Swansea advertise home seats at £35 for adults and £17.50 concessions. You of course can't please everybody as people who can't make this game for whatever reason are going to miss out, but the important thing is that the deal is going to those fans who deserve it the most and they have helped with the price of the ticket which helps every supporter. Where as free coach travel only helps a few. The meal voucher is a nice touch. The Swansea caterers are not going to know what's hit them
I agree with CBK.... No, that can't be right. I need to look at that again. No, it still looks....can I provisionally agree with CBK but.... Well, we are in uncharted territory here, but I think I agree with CBK....
