My only worry is that the EFL do treat the playoffs as a separate competition. The precedent for a knockout is Swindon who got kicked out for fielding illegal players.
This is the nagging doubt in my head. One thing's for sure, the EFL will no doubt be advised by lawyers to rewrite those rules in much more detail as soon as this has concluded

It is a worry, but I would like to think punishment fits the crime - eg, illegible players playing in games directly influences the outcome of the game. A boy with an iPhone 15 pro max and AirPods really doesn't.

Definitely a separate competition to the league imo but still don't see us being kicked out.

I don't think retrospectively changing the first leg to 3-0 works once the second leg has already been played.

Arguably they should have postponed the second leg to yesterday and then try and sort it all out last week.

If the independent panel look at sanctions then they may look at a precedent set by FIFA already.

The Canadian Womens Football team were found guilty of spying at the 2024 Olympics. 6 point penalty for their group effectively knocking them out of the tournament , a fine , the coach banned for a year.
Did that competition also not have the punishments set out in the rules? Was that judgement handed out by panel as well ?

I'm too busy to look through all the bollocks, but I noticed that SKY are now advertising the Hull v Southampton game? I think money talks .....

I've been suspicious of Middlesbrough's "evidence" from the beginning. The way they've been trickling evidence to friendly press, demanding Middlesbrough take Saints place in the playoff final and presenting what they have in an emotive way rather than providing a professional dossier raises too many questions.

What they really wanted was a war of words with Saints who have kept quiet and kept their powder dry throughout, refusing to play Middlesbrough's game.

Until we know Saints version of events and the panel's findings, we know nothing for sure.

One person we also haven't heard from is Will Salt himself. He is the one person in the country who knows everything.

Now Middlesbrough have become quieter. That tells me that they have nothing left to offer and have been told to shut up by their legal team.

My guess is that tomorrow, Saints will be found innocent of the worst charges, however, will be guilty of a technicality and will receive a small fine. Middlesbrough will then be censored for misrepresentating evidence and releasing it publicly before the allegations could be investigated. Hopefully the EFL will charge Middlesbrough too.
