Can I say that I am loving all this gloom and doom. This is what life is about. **** day at work, now get to air it all on the forum. The funny thing is on the Happy Clappy threads there are always posters, erm, 'disagreeing'. Here we are in danger of all getting along
Liverpool v Southampton Referee: Mike Jones Assistants: Harry Lennard, Mark Scholes Fourth official: Michael Oliver Mike Jones in the middle and Michael Oliver on the touchline? **** off PGMOL!
Was Shane's semi-final goal at Anfield about the last one he's scored for us? Some what overdue I think, but they must really fear him with his record against Liverpool
Will it be this on Sunday? Banned by the BBC until 2002 due to the number of suicides related to it, reckoned to be the saddest song ever written: Vin
I'm thinking of changing my name to Pollyanna, or Annie - "The sun'll come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be sun..." This won't improve the outlook on Saturday, though. Singin' in the rain, anyone?
The issue here is that football fans, in general, fear/expect the worst, so when a positive tone is introduced, we all seek to undermine any cheerfulness, as it is much easier to see through half-empty glasses, rather than rose-tinted spectacles (to mix metaphors). However, if someone is on the verge of being very depressed then we can all join in with the "It can't get any worse, can it?" feelings, and appreciate, nay enjoy, the gallows humour of predicting disaster. So 1-0 to Saints, then.
‘Hope springs eternal in the human breast’. No matter how hard we try we just will not accept the inevitable! It's only Monday and already thoughts of Liverpool's fragile defence are peaking through the clouds!
Depends what you class as a battering. I think City put five past us in the game that Jay got his serious injury, but I'm tempted to say that we scored twice. Might have been just the once. Chelsea put four past us last season, but Bertrand's late goal (I think it was Ryan?) meant that a 4-2 loss had some of the Chelsea gloss taken off.
On a serious note (sorry) I would seriously start JWP in this one. With this big influx of youth into the England squad, he must be feeling very left out and will have a point to prove. Okay, as you were.
Spurs spanked us at home last season, Man City were a lot better than us in our home match as well, deserved more than three.
I am looking forward to this game. Liverpool are ****e albeit in a different type of ****e way to saints but ****e noneheless. All their ex saints are injured apart from Loren who they want dead so its an interesting this one. I would leave your car at home though for this one as they have a reputation for stealing anything that moves
what's happening, it's bleak and the writings not even in blue. Just to join in, can't see this being anything other than a cricket score to the home team and Klopps teams have the best defence, we would never score even if we had someone who could score. Selling Lovren was the biggest mistake ever. I'm going to cheer myself up now and listen to The Smiths.
If we win this game, I will be interested to see the tone of your next match day thread. In the circumstances, will you go even gloomier?
